Cameroon:Samuel Eto'o officially installed as new FECAFOOT President

The former Indomitable Lions’ goal poacher was officially handed the keys to his new office by his predecessor during a brief ceremony in Yaounde last Monday, January 17
Former Indomitable Lions striker, Samuel Eto’o is now firmly seated on his chair as the new President of the Cameroon Football Federation, FECAFOOT.
Voted on December 11, 2021 the former striker officially took the baton of command last Monday during a handover ceremony at the FECAFOOT headquarters in Tsinga, Yaounde.
His predecessor, Seidou Mbombo Njoya ensured a smooth transition by handing over power to Samuel Eto’o in the presence of some members of the new executive committee of the football-governing body.
Seidou Mbombo Njoya wished the new team luck in the execution of their duties and hoped the new management takes football to higher heights.
On his part, Samuel Eto’o who had already been active since his election called on his close collaborators and all stakeholders to pull together in order to give Cameroon’s football the place it deserves on the world stage.
Immediately after the brief handover ceremony, the Samuel Eto’o was off to the Indomitable Lions’ den to motivate the players ahead of their 1-1 draw against Cape Verde in their final Group A game of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
The next day, the FECAFOOT President visited the Indomitable Lionesses at their training base at the CAF Excellence Centre in Mbankomo as they continue preparations for their upcoming qualifiers of the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nationsagainst The Gambia which will be played in Morocco.
